How Post & Present Treats work

Post & Present Treats let you send a small monetary gift with a theme such as coffee, cake, or a drink. You add a personal message and share a gift link. The recipient follows the link to claim it and can add the card to their phone wallet.

Choose a Treat

Sending a Treat

  1. Browse the Treats and choose your gesture.
  2. Check the gift value and the price, which is the amount you pay.
  3. Add your name, email, and a personal message.
  4. Pay by Instant Bank Pay. You choose your bank on the secure payment page.
  5. Copy the gift link from the confirmation page and share it in the conversation you already use.

You do not need an account. If you are signed in, we use the name and email already on it.

Receiving a Treat

Anyone collecting a Treat needs to be 18 or over. They need the link and an email address. They do not install an app.

  1. They open the gift link you sent.
  2. They see your message and the Treat you chose.
  3. They enter an email address. The page asks for that address so we can email the Treat. No account and no app are required.
  4. They choose “Open my treat”. We email a link so they can add the card to their phone wallet.
  5. They open that email and continue to the card. On the same phone, once the card is ready, they can choose “Open your card”.
A Coffee Treat uses a photograph of coffee. The recipient claims the gift value, which they can put towards a coffee.

What does the recipient receive?

They receive a digital card for the gift value of the Treat you bought. When the link is claimed, they can add that card to their phone wallet. The theme, whether that is coffee, cake, or a pint, is how you present the gift. It does not limit what they spend the value on.

Treats are bought in the United Kingdom, in pounds, by someone aged 18 or over who can enter a contract here. The person collecting needs the gift link and an email address. Our terms ask anyone using the site, including someone collecting a gift, to be 18 or over. A friend elsewhere in the UK collects in the same way.

The questions below explain the card itself, including where it can be used.

Questions about sending and collecting

How much does sending a Treat cost?

The price on the Treat is the amount you pay, in pounds, by Instant Bank Pay. That amount is loaded onto the recipient’s prepaid Mastercard. Post & Present does not add a fee on top of the price shown.

After you pay, the confirmation page shows a link beginning with /t/. Copy it, or use the share button on your phone, and send it yourself by text, chat, email, or DM. Post & Present does not text the recipient for you.

Does the sender need an account?

No. At checkout you add your name, your email, and a message. If you are already signed in, we use the name and email on your account.

Does the recipient need an account or app?

No. They open the gift link in a browser and enter an email address. We email the prepaid Mastercard to that address. There is no app to install and no account to create.

Which countries are supported?

Treats are bought in the United Kingdom, in pounds, by someone aged 18 or over who can enter a contract here. The person collecting needs the gift link and an email address. Which phones and digital wallets are supported?

Any phone or computer that can open a link and reach an email inbox is enough to claim the gift. When the link is received and claimed, the card can be added to the phone’s digital wallet. That lets it pay anywhere Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay is accepted.

Where can the card be spent?

It is a prepaid Mastercard. Once it is in the phone wallet, it can pay anywhere Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay is accepted. It can be used online, but not combined with another card in the same online payment. In person, shops should allow the payment to be split, so the Treat can cover part of a bill.

Is it restricted to the selected Treat?

No. Coffee, cake, a pint, and the other themes are the gesture you choose. The recipient receives the gift value on a prepaid Mastercard. The picture shows that gesture. It is not a voucher that can only buy the item in the picture.

Can the recipient add money or pay the difference?

There is no way to refill the card. Online, it cannot be combined with another card. In person, shops should allow the payment to be split, so they can pay the rest of the bill another way.

Can a remaining balance be used later?

Yes. Any remaining balance can be used on later purchases until the card is fully used up. Once the balance is gone, the card should be discarded.

When does the gift or card expire?

The prepaid Mastercard follows the card issuer’s terms, including any expiry. Post & Present does not publish a separate expiry date for the Treat.

What happens if the gift is not collected?

The prepaid card is created when the recipient enters an email address. Until then, no card is issued. If you shared the link with the wrong person before they collect it, email us promptly.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

The card is issued when they collect the Treat, not when you pay. Email hello@postandpresent.co.uk promptly if you need to cancel before they collect. Once the card has been issued, a refund may not be possible except where UK consumer law requires it, or where we agree there has been a clear error or fraud.

How can the sender or recipient get help?

Email hello@postandpresent.co.uk. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm UK time.

You can also write to hello@postandpresent.co.uk.
